Re: Can not set backup to correct drive
So much for getting answers out of anybody in this forum. or even getting anybody to read and reply to my question. All I can do is sympathize brother. I made the fatal error of installing the destructive build 358 and it effectively made it impossible for me to boot into two of my desktops. On one...

Re: Something wrong with the FBackup network?
I'm sure that the origin of my FBackup problems are due to a non-clean uninstall. As I've mentioned in other posts, I could not get Build 359 to install without messages interrupting the process asking for a path to the fbsetup.msi file. Somehow FBackup thinks there's an old version still installed....

Something wrong with the FBackup network?
I'm trying to install FBackup 5 (build 359) from scratch and I keep getting the error message that a "network resource is unavailable," and the installer asks me to point it toward the fbsetup.msi file. I cannot find a version of this file to the installer's liking, and the installation ul...

Unable to install any version after build 358 purge
After doing my best to remove every trace of the disastrous build 358 (WARNING), which made it impossible to log into 2 separate Win7 machines, I am now unable to install build 359 (or any other version). I get a Windows complaint ---------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Softland should be ashamed
Okay, I have now managed to bypass the devastation wrought by FBackup thanks to this System Recovery Tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/139576-startup-repair-infinite-loop-recovery.html However, after trying to purge my Windows 7 system (going back to an earlier registry setting) of FBac...

Build 358 uninstall problem, Build 359 install problem
(running Win7) Thanks to your build 358, which I see was quickly updated to build 359, I now have 2 computers that I cannot even log into. I get a message stating "Preparing to Configure Windows. Please do not turn off your computer" (the usual thing after Windows updates). Then both these...

Re: Build 5.0.218
My problem is simple - your new build didn't install properly. I followed the download link as prompted by FBackup (i.e. "would you like to update now?"), and upon attempting to run the executable I was informed that build 192 had already been installed. In other words, the "update&qu...

Re: FBackup 5 is Not As Good as it used to be
That's excellent news. I look forward to a much slower, less intuitive piece of software that doesn't update properly.
Best,
Jim

Give up on version 5
I"m going back to version 4, having completely lost my incentive to give Softland the benefit of doubt after this series of disasters surrounding version 5. My recommendation to newbies: don't bother with version 5. If version 4 already does what you need to be done, then stick with it. I regre...

Build 5.0.218
Okay, so I get an announcement from Softland that there's an update to what has so far been an awful updated piece of once-functional software in FBackup. I already have installed Build 5.0.192. I download the brand new update and attempt to install it. What happens? I'm immediately informed by the ...
