Mirror Backup

Had regularly used FBackup (mirror) for a while backing up to external hard drive (despite the LENGTHY <500g harddrive & 8 years of info> process). Only kept latest backup. It was a fairly straightforward process & I, even, recommended it to others.

Never had need to "restore."

Than the "unthinkable" happened---my hard drive crashed. Finally having enough time to "deal" with restoring, decided to restore only necessary items---the others would be there if/when I needed them.

The entire backup (tree) is on the ext hard drive---down to the documents themselves. The documents do NOT show as being available.

Before I TOTALLY give up (& forever "cuss" FBackup!), wanted to check if I'm doing something wrong.

Why would it copy every folder, but not copy the documents in that folder.

Hi,

Please send us the .fkc catalog file from the backup destination and the last backup log from FBackup to info[at]fbackup[dot]com
By default FBackup does back up both files and folders, unless you set different configurations to include or exclude only some file types.

fkc file is too large (74000+kb) to attach.

Can it be changed to make smaller? Thanks.

I feel like an idiot---but am in a computer "area" I've not used before.

Hi,

You can compress the file in a .rar or .zip archive.
If the size still too large, you can send it to us via wetransfer.com

Well, learned something new---how to make a zip file (it's pretty simple). Thank you.

Just emailed the zip file to you.

Thanks for your help.
