Restored data with errors: too long file path?

Hello,
after restoring my data from an external disc to the PC I was informed, that not all files were restored. Such problem did not occur when undertaking backup. I suspect that it could be a problem of too long file paths (I use long comprehensive descriptions for my data).
In the log file I can read that:
" Restored 5195 file(s) and 862 folder(s)
Restore operation finished at 2013-10-19 07:47:12 with 400 errors"

In a moment I will send my log file to info[at]fbackup[dot]com.
Please see to it and inform how can I restore files in order to avoid any errors that occured.
Thank You in advance

Hi,

In this case, after we discussed with Kriss, it seems the path was too long.

Hi,
thank you for the quick response. I followed instrctions (restore to C:) and managed to restore the files with 175 errors instead of 400 (out of 5420 files). The pahs were too long indeed.
But still those 175 files could be useful. Is it possible to shorten the filepath automatically while restoring to allow all files to e placed back?

Regards

Krzysztof

Hi,

No, you cannot shorten the file path automatically during restore as that will result in a different path.
Try to rename the zip file to a shorten name and restore it to C: drive using Windows Explorer.
