Before I buy Mirror copies question

I don't understand all you tutorials so I decided to ask see if I can get some answers before I take out my credit card, if I need to do so, that is.

I like FBackup as it can do "Mirror copies". This means, to me at least, that should I ever want backed up files on another computer I simply plug in my backup drive and drag and drop.

Question on free version:
If I re-run the backup in Mirror Mode does it do a full backup from start, incremental or differential backup?

Thanking you in advance from a sunny South Africa :-)

PS: I hopefully, hope, that you can give discount to someone buying in my currency (Rands) as we pay 12 Rand to the dollar!!

Hi,

If you use the Mirror backup type and you run again the backup, only new and modified files will be backed up. That is a kind of incremental, without zip.

Hi, I think Im doing something wrong?!
This is what happens if I se Mirror Backup.

Action: I run a full backup to my E drive, which is an external Seagate drive.
Result:It backs up all the files in My Document and Desktop by duplicating them on my Seagate (Great news)

Action: I cut/ paste a file from My Documents to My Desktop, on my laptop
Result: I run another backup but the file I cut/pasted to my Desktop is still under My Documents in on the Seagate external drive.

So, in short, the second backup (F6) does not pick up I moved a file.

What am I doing wrong??

I prefer this software to others as it is very easy to use.

Hi,

If you used the Full backup type, all files are backed up every time and the previous backup is deleted.
Please send us the last backup log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

I don't know if you still jave this problem but i post anyway cause can be useful for other people.
On the backup properties select Mirror and you'll find two chechboxes, the one you're interested in is the second, named "Remove excluded or deleted file from backup", you have to select this. Otherwise if you move a file you'll find a copy on the old directory and a copy on the new directory cause FBakup find a new file but don't care anything that theres no more that file in the old place.
The same is for deleted files, if you delete a file but the checkbox is not selected the files in the backup destination path remain there (pay attention for deleted file cause a bakup can save you from unintended deletes).
