How do you automatically delete backups older than XX days?

Post by VSAdmin »

I would like to delete all backups that are older than 14 days.

Basically only keep the last 14 backups that I have running daily.

Can this be done within the backup app or do I need to use a scheduled batch file?

Hi,

In FBackup you cannot specify such a condition.
Using the Full backup type, only the latest version of the backup is kept.
Using the Mirror backup type, every time you run the backup, the files are updated in destination, keeping also a single version.

This suggestion can get you closer (7-days):
Assuming that you are doing full backups.
Create a separate backup job for each day of the week storing the backups in different folders.
Schedule each to run weekly.
This creates a rolling 7 day backup.

Hi,

That solution should also work fine.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
