Version 7.3.373

I am having trouble with the new version 7.3.373. Once I start my backup it hangs on the preparing catalog. The entire program freezes and I can not shut it down. I have to restart the computer in order to open fbackup again. I am using a Dell desktop w/Windows 10 Home. I have tried uninstall, reinstall, clean the registry and cache. Nothing fixes the problem. I had to go back to 7.1 because that was the last download version I had saved. I just don't upgrade, and the old version works just fine. Are there bugs in 7.3? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,

We are not aware of such problems in version 7.3
Can you send us the .fkc catalog file for that job to info[at]fbackup[dot]com, to see what the problem is?

I too am having problems with the latest upgrade.

The scheduler does not actually carry out the tasks at the times allocated previously - this was never a problem with other versions of FB7

When I check the scheduler the times are correct but I cannot actually save any amendments as the program freezes and I need to use Taskmaster to close it down?

Hi,

Can you manually create a new scheduled task in Control Panel->Task Scheduler->Softland->FBackup7?

Problem solved - I think it was my PC playing up and not the Software

I have two problems.
Since the last upgrade my software narrative is all in German rather than in English - the pc was purchased in Germany. I cannot find an option to change back to English.
Secondly, my schedules backups are not working even though the scheduler ( in German ) says the next job is at 21:00m daily.
If I am being told about a problem it would be in German so I can't read it.

Hi,

You can change the FBackup interface language from File->Options->General page.
File - is the first button (from left) in top menu.
Options - is the 6th button under File
General - is the first page under Options
There you have a dropdown menu in the right side of the General page. Select English and press OK.

When installing FBackup, you have the option to change your language in the first screen when you start the installer.
