installing fbackup

Post by Bauke »

Am trying to install fbackup 6.2 build 246. The program tells me within three seconds that fbackup has been installed. However, only the directory softland has been created and the programme fbackup cannot be found on my computer at all! Suggestions?

In addition: I managed to install version 4.6 in the 32 bit version. Updating to 6.2 (in the 64 bit version) doesn't work! Same as before

Hi,

Please go to Control Panel and try to uninstall FBackup 6 from there.
Then download the complete setup from our website and try again to install it. Do you still have the problem?

Yes, same problem, i.e.: even the directory softland is now also missing. The control panel says that fbackup is installed but I cannot find it at all: neither by search onor by manaally leafing through all directories. As a matter of fact I am using fback for a couple of years and without any problems. Last week I tried to open it (via the shortcut) and then got the message that the programme was missing. Searching my computer indeed confirmed that fbackup had been removed (not by me!) and only the directory softland was still there. Re-installing fback gives the problem as I sketched before. My OS is Win10. It's a great riddle for me!

Hi,

FBackup works fine under Windows 10.
Can you give me access to your computer using TeamViewer to help you with the installation?
Please send us an email to info[at]fbackup[dot]com to discuss when we can connect.

With "DONE" I meant that the email had been sent not that the problem was solved ...!

No I unfortunately can't! The idea was for Fback up to take over my computer this afternoon with Teamviewer. Unfortunately something with work came up and I had to cancel. I then suggested last Friday at noon (!) to do the same thing tomorrow morning and so far still no reaction from Fbackup. So, if they don't come up tomorrow morning ...I'll send them another email at [email protected].
