Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, fresh installation.

Same thing, build 179 did not help.

Sent multiple Job logs, no reply after 2 weeks.

Is this thing just not working on 64 bit systems?

Hi,

ON the weekend I installed and used FBackup 4.4.188 for the first time to make a full mirror backup of my C: drive to an external HDD before upgrading (reinstalling) Windows 7 RC 32-bit to the RTM version.

The backup seemed to work okay, but when reviewing the log file I found that open files were not backed up. The log file shows following entries:

[01/03/2010 23:22:24] Added folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA

[01/03/2010 23:22:24] Added folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys

...
I thought FBackup is able to backup open files? At least that is what is claimed on the FBackup website.

Do I need to use some special plugin?

What settings do I need to use or are open files not backed up (copied) with a "mirror" backup?

I installed & ran FBackup with full administrator priviledges. UAC is enabled in Windows 7 and I did get the usual UAC pop-up prompt when I started FBackup.
Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi,
FBackup was not designed for system backup, so you won't be able to restore the operating system.

You should use FBackup for data files backup only.

We do not recommend to use FBackup in order to backup system files / installed software.

We encourage users to use it only for their own work: files and folders.
Please open Backup Properties->Sources and uncheck the "Windows" and "ProgramData" folders from C drive.

Fair enough. For totally free software with a good support forum this is an excellent backup program nonetheless.
