When I attempt to restore a backup, it appears to be working. However, once the restore has finished, the folders in "Start > All Programs" are empty.

I notice during the restore process that folders appear to be restoring, but the percentage reader to the left remains at zero percent.

    Hi,

Please let us know what data files do you restored?

Does the percent remain zero all the restore process?

I backed up a friends hard drive who has XP Pro as her OS. Although Fbackup appeared to be working, I noticed that the percentage reader remained @ 0% throughout the whole process. Now all of the folder names appear in the right place but all of the folders are empty. The file contents that are missing are graphic files, i.e., .jpg, adobe photoshop, etc. I know the contents of the files are still there as I did a secondary backup using Winzip just to check.
    Please advise,

    Bob

    Hi,

Please send the following files to info[at]fbackup[dot]com:
    - the .fkc catalog file for that job. You can find the .fkc file if you go to View->Open folder->Destination folder.
    - the .log file for the last backup job. To find it, please go to: View->Job Logs->Last Backup Log.
Put the files into a zip archive.

currently copying the catalog file, but the last backup log is grayed out and therefore not accessible.

What was the resolution for this. I have the same problem. I used the backup and my hardrive was replaced. I did restire and all my file folders were restored but all the files are missing. Data files, pictures, spreadsheets, videos, actually favorites, etc.

    Hi,

It seems Vametfan sent us only the log file but not the catalog.
We asked him again to send us the catalog but we have no response from him.

@nne6jxc: Please send us the following files to info[at]fbackup[dot]com:
    - the .fkc catalog file for that job. You can find the .fkc file if you go to View->Open folder->Destination folder.
    - the .log file for the last backup job. To find it, please go to: View->Job Logs->Last Backup Log.
Put the files into a zip archive.

Hello. I see that perhaps nne6jxc was not responsive either, but I promise that I will be. I used Fbackup to create a .fkc file which I saved on a portable drive. I then erased the hard drive and did a clean install of Win XP. I re-installed Fbackup and tried to restore the files. The program works hard for a while, though the progress meter is at 0% for at least a very long time (I can't say if it was the whole time, since I walked away and came back to find it finished). When the process is complete all the folders are restored but they are all empty - there are no actual files in them.

Give the word and I will e-mail the .fkc file. I'm guessing I don't have the .log file, since I erased this hard drive..? I am truly desperate to make this "restore" operation work, since I have re-formatted the original hard drive.

    Thank you

Hi I have the same problem as described above. The back up was in windows xp and I'm trying to restore to Windows 7. When I go to restore I can see the files have been backed up by FPBackup but the folders are empty when the restore process is complete and the progress meter stays at zero, the log file shows the folders being restored and no errors but not the files!!!!
