Re: Hung Job: Cannot backup while another action is in progress

Well thank you. After noodling around a bit more it appears to be hung just loading the job. The back-up was successful. It's just trying to get to the job info. You [probably already figured this out.

Re: Hung Job: Cannot backup while another action is in progress

It's a small job, just FBackup settings. It usually only takes a few minutes to run. Once it's run it's stuck. All controls are grayed-out (see attached photo). It has added the text "[Load]" to the job title, and seems to be in a limbo state.

Hung Job: Cannot backup while another action is in progress

A settings backup job gets hung after it starts. I cannot be paused, cancelled, tested, or any other action. All are grayed out even after a reboot. No other back-ups are scheduled until 1:00 AM. This behavior began spontaneously a few months ago. At one point it was possible to delete the job and s...

Disbling test is an option. It is not recommended in anything I've already read on this site. Does the testing work the same way with Backup4all? Would it likely be the same length?

Didn't find a setting for low compression. In Full Backup/Properties/Compression encryption is set to "No Encryption" and split by file is set to "None". Why dies it take so long on this computer (win 7 64b) but not on the Vista machine?

O.K. But why does the full backup on the Vista 32 machine test so quickly while the full backup on the Win 7 64 machine test so slowly? What else can we try to solve this long test issue?

<t>There is one switch that the two computers and the backup server are connected to. Both computers have the destination called out the same way, e.g \\Mca-05abb7\jiloa\My Backup\Charmed2010\Weekly Backup\. Each has it's own file directory. The weekly full backup ran again yesterday with the same r...

P.S. We also have esentially an identical backup set-up on a Vista machine on the same network and back-up server. The backup takes about 3 hours and the test less than one.
