Hi,

That message appears when the backup job that was supposed to run, does not exist. Please make sure the backup job with the same name exists in FBackup.

Have not had success with scheduled backups, tried using built in scheduler and windows scheduler, no difference.

This is what has been happening typically: Yesterday morning at about 6am I tried again, set backup of certain folders for 7:15am. It worked, program started at 7:15am and it backed what I wanted successfully. I had also set it to do that daily, so this morning when I checked, the scheduled backup did not run and gave an error message saying "<filename> is not a valid backup job" (or something like that.) This has gone on like this for a week or so now and I am unsure of what to do next. Thanks for any help you are able to give. Sorry if this has been asked beofre but I could not seem to find a similar posting.

Hi,

Please note FBackup was design for data files and folders backup, not for system backup.
You cannot make a bootable backup using FBackup.

I will be rebuilding my system next month when I receive Windows 7. My question is this, can I backup with this software under Windows XP SP3 and the restore it under Windows 7?

I know that a new backup utility has been released by Microsoft so that this can be accomplished since Vista and Windows 7 will NOT read Windows XP backup files.

Thanks
Mike

Hi,

You cannot just open the dbx files and read emails inside. You have to configure the account and restore the files.
Also, please do not create 3 new topics for the same question.

Sorry but you cannot save multiple copies with FBackup.
FBackup is intended as a backup utility for home users, for more advanced features we recommend using Backup4all (but it's commercial, not freeware like FBackup) - it does include the possibility to create file versioning keeping multiple copies of files.

Hi. I'm a new user of FBackup; this is probably a very basic question, but I couldn't seem to find the answer in an hour or so of nosing around.

I see a few posts asking about saving a fixed number of backup copies (for example, a thread titled 'How can I save multiple copies?', started 2 weeks ago by supakeepa), with the answer being that you can't limit the number of backups with FBackup.

My problem is I don't seem to be getting multiple backups at all. Each time a run a particular backup job, it creates a new .zip file in the destination directory, but the previous one is gone. Is there a way to keep previous backups that I am missing?

Thanks.

/John
